Currency – The information on this website is fairly current. The links are functional, and the older articles date back to October but were updated recently. Some information in previous postings was also updated in 2015. Just Facts started as a website in 1997 and was formalized as a non-profit organization in 2007.
Relevance – The website has a wide variety of topics from gun control to sex trafficking. The information on this site is detailed and goes in depth of policy issues. The site contains necessary and sufficient information of many interesting facts.
Authority – James D. Agresti is the president and primary researcher for Just Facts. (Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering) Stephen F. Cardone is the chairman of the board of directors. (Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology) The credentials and qualifications are listed on the site.
Accuracy – The information on this website is accurate because it lists provides citations and references from where the information was obtained. The site is very professional, and the information is easy to access and not harsh or emotional.
Purpose – The site states the purpose “to publish verifiable facts regardless of the views they support, not to circulate falsehoods and propaganda.” Their goal is to help individuals convey the realities, not half-truths and make informed decisions.
Currency – The information on this website is very current and is updated regularly. The site has plenty of postings each month with the last article being published on January 30, 2015. The links are fully functional. I wasn’t able to locate exactly how long this site has been operating.
Relevance – The site contains a lot of topics on public policy and politics. It would be relevant and useful to those looking to find information on topics such as Obama’s speech or the U.S. Economy. The information is very detailed and clear and is both necessary and sufficient. It fits the age and education level of the information I would use for research purposes.
Authority – The site recognizes and lists their mission, funding, and staff. Each of the members is listed on a page with their qualifications and credentials. If one chooses to contact an author, they can easily do so with the contact information listed.
Accuracy – The site seems to be very accurate and contains unbiased information. They maintain professionalism on the site and have won many awards. The site is organized and is provides citations and references.
Purpose – The site has a mission statement: “We are a nonpartisan, nonprofit “consumer advocate” for voters that aims to reduce the level of deception and confusion in U.S. politics.” Their goal is to increase public knowledge and understanding. The site is definitely not advertising anything.

The similarity in the results of “Kobe Bryant” on both the individual search engines and the meta-search engines was the repetitive websites. All the search engines brought up Wikipedia.org, ESPN.go.com, and kobebryant.com as part of the top 5 results. However, the difference between the results of “Kobe Bryant” was that the individual search engines (Google.com, Yahoo.com, Bing.com) brought up current news articles regarding the topic, while the meta-search engines did not. Yahoo.com and Bing.com also brought up YouTube video results regarding the topic, while Dogpile.com, Zoo.com, and Webcrawler.com only showed basic results. Overall, I would say that the individual search engines had more current and more detailed information than the meta-search engines.
